inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi says the development of Nusantara Airport in Nusantara Capital City (IKN), East Kalimantan, is quite significant.
The good progress of the Nusantara Airport can be seen with its runway construction is still within their 1,975 meter target as of Sunday (9/8/2024).
“It is still within our target. Soon it will be completed to 2,200 meters,” says Minister Budi on Monday (9/9/2024).
Other than the runway, the VVIP terminal construction progress has also reached 90.16 percent completion, a significant progress compared to 82.6 percent in last August. Meanwhile, for the VIP terminal construction, the progress has reached 77.06 percent completion.
Next, for supporting facilities such as the ATC tower, as of Sunday (9/8/2024) the tower construction progress has reached 53.71 percent, while the administration and operational building construction progress has reached 61.03 percent. In addition the PKP-PK Building has been completed for 68.71 percent.
“As of now, everything is going smoothly. Our challenges still on the weather factor, but everything is still under control,” says Minister Budi.
As for the airport access support road, it has currently been built above 50 percent. Meanwhile, the main access road is 98.53 percent ready, the western perimeter road is 66.96 percent built, and the eastern perimeter road is 50.44 percent complete.
"We are optimistic that the airport will be completed in its entirety according to the schedule, which is on December 31st, 2024," said the Minister of Transportation.
