Inp.polri.go.id – North Kalimantan. The North Kalimantan Regional Police have uncovered drug smuggling crimes with a total of 38 kilograms confiscated within two months. Several suspects are believed to be linked to an international drug ring.

“Our drug unit have uncovered drug criminal cases with a total evidence confiscated reaching 38 kilograms,” said the Head of North Sumatra Regional Police Public Relations, Senior Superintendent Hadi Wahyudi.

It was revealed that the evidence was gathered from 19 case disclosures with a total suspects of 26. Suspects are arrested in several places throughout the province within two months.

As of now, North Sumatra remains as the province with most drug activities in Indonesia. The North Sumatra Regional Police continue to cooperate with Malaysian officials in eradicating the drug flows.

The North Sumatra National Drug Agency (BNN) claims to have confiscated 99.5 kilograms of meth, 190 kilograms of weed, and 998.5 ecstasy pills throughout 2023. From the case disclosure with the BNN in 2023, there are 94 cases uncovered with a total suspect of 129.
