Inp.polri.go.id - Medan. The North Sumatera Regional Police guaranteed that athletes arrive on time for the National Sports Event, Pekan Olahraga Nasional (PON) XXI, scheduled for 8 to 20  September 2024. 

“We are committed to making sure that athletes and officials do not face delays traveling from their hotels to the competition venues,” said Senior Superintendent Muji Ediyanto, the North Sumatra Police Director of Traffic, on Tuesday (30/7/2024).

To facilitate this, the police will implement privileged access management (PAM) for travel routes and adjust traffic patterns. The North Sumatera Police has also worked together with the North Sumatera Transportation Department and other agencies to keep everything on schedule, he said.

Support from the Indonesian National Police (INP)  Traffic Corps will include additional vehicles, motorcycles, and personnel. A total of 4,952 security and support staff—including the INP, the Indonesian Military (TNI), the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas), traffic officers and firefighters—will be deployed to guarantee safety and smooth operations at each event venue.
