Inp.polri.go.id - Jambi. Jambi Regional Police Deputy Chief Brigadier General Edi Mardianto conducted aerial surveillance of forest and land fire hotspots near the Jambi-South Sumatra border to prepare prompt handling of fires.

According to Jambi Police Head of Public Relations, Senior Superintendent Mulia Prianto, aerial surveillance allows for quick detection and response to prevent fires from spreading.

The monitoring revealed a fire in Muaro Medak Village, Bayung Lencir District, Musi Banyuasin, South Sumatra.

“This monitoring helps us track fire-prone areas in Jambi,” he said.

The observed fire affected approximately 15 hectares of peatland surrounded by a 1.5-meter wide canal. The fire is close to the Jambi-Sungai Gelam border, about 21 km away.
