North Toraja Landslide Claims Three Lives

Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  The evacuation efforts after the landslides in North Toraja regency in South Sulawesi resulted in eight victims, with five survivors and three fatalities.

Heavy rainfall triggered two landslides on 26 April 2024, damaging homes. One house was severely affected, while another was partially damaged.

Mexianus Bekabel, the Head of the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) in Makassar, confirmed on Saturday (27/4/2024) that the bodies of the victims were handed over to their respective families for burial.

Survivors include Lusiana (45), Yohana Laba (27), Sabina Samba (49), Nobel Gadi (35), and Paulus Sirupang (42). The deceased victims were Martina LInting (40), Margareta Tanduk (40), and Margareta Renbon (38).
