Inp.polri.go.id – Papua. The Papua Regional Police along with XVII/Cenderawasih Regional Military Command plants coconut tree seeds along the beach of Holtekamp Hamadi, Jayapura City, on Thursday (1/25/2024). The activity were led by Papua Regional Police Chief Inspector General Mathius D. Fakhiri and XVII/Cenderawasih Regional Military Commander Major General Izak Pangemanan. Moreover, other than planting tree seeds, the joint security forces also cleared the beach from trash, involving around 1,200 people from the military and police, students, green activists, and locals. Furthermore, the activity is also part of effort in solidifying solidarity between the police and military force by showing their attention and active participation in developing Papua, one of which is by preserving its nature. The two institutions said that they will continue other similar activities massively and continuously. On the other hand, the tree planting activities aimed to prevent abrasion and suppress the effect of global warming. Through this planting, the Papuan joint security forces hopes that Holtekam Beach would continue to be the beautiful beach as it is and the tree planted to grow big and useful for the locals. At the end of the session, the Regional Military Commander invites all parties to do various activities or efforts to prevent, anticipate, and overcome the issues at the beach to better promote the locations as one of Papua top tourist destinations.
