Head of the Public Relations Division of the Indonesian National Police (INP), Police Inspector General Sandi Nugroho, stated that until now there has been no report regarding the alleged criminal act of breaking into Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) banking data. Therefore, until now no follow-up can be done by the police.
"The police have not received this specific report, later if there is one we will convey it," said Head of the Public Relations Division of INP, Police Inspector General Sandi Nugroho, Wednesday (17/5/23).
He explained that until now the police have seen and studied the dynamics in cyberspace and the news related to the BSI report. Data collection has also been carried out as police anticipation.
"The police have criminal responsibility, but the actions taken by investigators are based on police reports, of course, Siber has collected data," he explained.
For information, the breach of BSI customer data caused the bank's operational system to shut down for several days. SOE Minister Erick Thohir also said the incident was caused by cybercrime.
