Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Cyber Crime Directorate of the Indonesian National Police (INP) continued to investigate the motives behind the hate speech against supporters of suspended Papua Governor the late Lukas Enembe through TikTok platform.
"We are currently investigating the motives," said Chief of Sub-Directorate 1 of the INP Cyber Crime Directorate Senior Superintendent Jefri Dian Juniarta on Tuesday (2/1/2024).
H said that the motives behind the owner of the TikTok account with the username @presiden_ono_niha, identified as AB (30), was related to economic factors and engagement with a large number of followers, exceeding 100,000 people, antaranews.com reported.
"He comments on anything every day, and he was endorsed once. It is more towards engagement followers, and economics, but we are investigating it," Chief Jefri explained.
However, when asked about the amount of profit he gained from such content, he did not disclose the specific figure.
The INP officers have arrested AB in the Kebon Jeruk area of West Jakarta over the weekend. The police confiscated a mobile phone, a wig, a shirt, a blazer, and eye-glasses.
Through his TikTok account, AB uploaded video content that could incite hatred towards the actions of Enembe's supporters during his funeral procession in Papua.
