Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has officially formed on Wednesday (31/7/2024) a Task Force (Satgas) to oversee the 2024 National Sports Week (PON) and the 2024 National Paralympic Week (Peparnas).

The task force was established under Presidential Decree No. 24 of 2024, which outlines its role in ensuring the success of PON XXI in Aceh and North Sumatra, and Peparnas XVII in Central Java. 

The task force aims to achieve excellence in performance, administration, and economic impact on local sports and industry development, according to antaranews.com.

The task force is divided into two main areas: oversight of event organization and governance. The Strategic Policy Board, led by the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture, provides strategic guidance. The operational team for event support is headed by the Minister of Youth and Sports, while governance oversight is managed by the Deputy Attorney General.

The task force will report regularly to ensure smooth operations and compliance, with bi-monthly updates required to the President.
