inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Joko Widodo inaugurated Indonesia Islamic Financial Center Area at Menara Danareksa, Central Jakarta on Tuesday (9/17/2024).

"This area will contribute to the good development of Indonesia, including in banking," said President Jokowi on Tuesday (9/17/2024).

He said that Indonesia has great potential in developing the sharia economy, based on its Muslim population reaching 236 million people. And with the presence of the Indonesia Islamic Financial Center Area, it is expected that the facility will be able to capture opportunities from this market share.

He also expressed the need for an in-depth study of various aspects related to the sharia economy, both nationally and globally. According to him, special attention must be given to the sharia industry ecosystem, including support for various sectors such as Muslim fashion, halal commerce, halal food and beverage industry, and halal tourism.

President Jokowi also emphasized the importance of the existence of a platform that supports the development of these sectors. He hopes that with an integrated approach, the sharia economy can make a significant contribution to sustainable national economic growth.
