President Jokowi Urges Indonesian Military-INP Officers for Tech Threats Readiness

President Joko Widodo urged young officers of the Indonesian Military and the Indonesian National Police (INP) to remain vigilant amidst the rapidly advancing technological threats. During a ceremony to inaugurate 833 young officers from both institutions on Wednesday (26/7/23), President Jokowi emphasized the necessity for Indonesia to proactively keep pace with technological advancements in order to effectively address potential threats. "Therefore, I urge you all to continue learning, honing your skills and expertise, mastering knowledge and technology, and fostering innovation," President Jokowi addressed. The President emphasized that the tasks entrusted to the young Indonesian Military and INP officers are challenging, as they bear the responsibility of safeguarding national security stability, upholding the unity of the Republic of Indonesia, and carrying forward the legacy of national leadership. He also drew attention to the dynamic and fast-changing global environment, where disruptive technological advancements and geopolitical shifts demand accurate and swift responses. "You will face diverse situations. The world is experiencing rapid changes, disruptive technological advancements, and dynamic geopolitics that require accurate and swift responses," he emphasized. Furthermore, he urged the young officers to serve as role models for the broader society by upholding integrity, embracing ethical values, and actively engaging in public service to assist the people. He expressed his hope for stronger collaboration and synergy between the Indonesian Military and INP, urging both institutions to enhance communication and interaction in order to collectively address various challenges. "I am proud of the achievements of our sons and daughters. They are not only the pride of their parents but also the pride of Indonesia," he expressed his admiration. The Prasetya Prawira Indonesian Military-INP 2023 ceremony witnessed the inauguration of a total of 833 young officers, comprising 357 Army (AD) officers, 94 Navy (AL) officers, 114 Air Force (AU) officers, and 268 INP officers.
