inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto officially inaugurated 961 regional heads elected in the 2024 regional elections at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, on Thursday (2/20/2025).
The 961 regional heads consist of 33 governors and 33 deputy governors, 363 district heads, 362 deputy district heads, 85 mayors and 85 deputy mayors.
The event began with singing the national anthem Indonesia Raya, then followed by the reading of the Presidential Decree of the Republic of Indonesia Number 15 P of 2025 and Number 24 P of 2025.
The six elected regional heads then were appointed to go into the front row as representatives of six religions to take the oath of office.
The six representatives of regional heads were Lampung Governor Rahmat Mirzani Djausal (Islam), North Maluku Governor Sherly Tjoanda (Catholic), Singkawang Mayor Tjhau Chui Mie (Buddhist), Karangasem Regent I Gusti Putu Parwata (Hindu), Manado Mayor Andrei Angouw (Confucian), and Merauke Regent Yoseph P Gebze (Protestant Christian).
They were then sworn in by President Prabowo.
"I will fulfill my obligations as governor, as deputy governor, as regent, as deputy regent, as mayor, as deputy mayor as best and as fairly as possible, upholding the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia and implementing all laws and as honestly as possible and serving the community, nation, and country," said President Prabowo, followed by the elected regional heads.
Following the oath taking, the procession of pinning of rank insignia by President Prabowo to the six regional heads was carried out, followed by the signing of the minutes by representatives of the regional heads and President Prabowo
