Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has urged heightened vigilance against evolving money laundering techniques, notably involving crypto assets. 

Speaking at the 22nd Anniversary of the National Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Movement on Wednesday (17/4/2024), he emphasized staying ahead of technologies like crypto assets and AI-driven transactions.

Highlighting the need for a comprehensive approach, President Jokowi urged ministries to proactively collaborate internationally and reinforce regulations. 

He noted a significant global increase in money laundering indicators, reaching USD 8.6 billion in 2022, as reported by antaranws.com.

Jokowi stressed swift action against money laundering methods, emphasizing the importance of keeping pace technologically. He also called for vigilance against terrorism financing and emphasized the pending Asset Seizure Law.
