Inp.polri.go.id - Makassar.  South Sulawesi Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Andi Rian Djajadi, called on coastal residents of Lae-lae Island, Makassar, to contribute to ensuring peaceful regional elections in 2024.

“The role of the community is crucial in achieving peaceful elections,” he said during a visit on Monday (16/9/2024).

While distributing aid packages, Chief Andi Rian encouraged residents to remain vigilant against fake news and avoid being provoked by misinformation.

"Make sure to verify information before sharing it," he said, as quoted by antaranews.com.

Chief Rian also warned against money politics, which could undermine democracy, and assured that the South Sulawesi Police would remain neutral during the election process.

The Directorate of Water and Air Police officers have been deployed to secure timely distribution of election logistics across the islands.
