Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) announced on Saturday (19/10/2024) the launch of the Spartan Command Center, which will spearhead efforts to tackle land mafia activities and resolve land disputes across Indonesia.

"This task force reflects our commitment to standing by the public and defending their land rights," he said at the launch event on Saturday (19/10/2024).

The Spartan Command Center operates under the Directorate General for Land Dispute and Conflict Resolution and will focus on eliminating land mafia operations. It will collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutors, and local administration to ensure justice is served, according to antaranews.com.

Minister Agus hoped the center will help resolve long-standing land disputes and strengthen legal certainty, improving the investment climate. He pointed to the recent exposure of two major land mafia cases in West Java, with estimated losses exceeding Rp 3.6 trillion.
