inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Chairman of the Banyumas Rice Association,  Eko Purwanto said that the increase in rice harvests is inseparable from the availability of fertilizers. He said that the rice harvest per hectare this year is predicted to reach 7-8 tons.

"That is proof of the success of the good distribution of fertilizers, and this must be continuously maintained by the government so that rice production remains optimal," he said, as reported by the RRI page, Wednesday (16/10/24).

In his statement, he revealed that currently there is a reduction in harvest land by 0.17 million hectares. Even so, national rice production in 2024 is projected to reach 30 million tons.

Based on BPS data, the national rice consumption requirement is recorded at around 22.6 million tons, so there is a surplus of 7 million tons. The stability of rice prices is greatly influenced by good management from the government, especially in absorbing domestic harvests.

"In terms of data, we still have a surplus. However, poor rice distribution management has caused price fluctuations in the market," he explained.

Furthermore, he hopes that in the future the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka government can further improve rice management policies.
