"This patrol is a routine activity that we have intensified to anticipate illegal goods entering the waters of Tanjungbalai," said Tanjungbalai Police Chief, Superintendent Yon Edi Winara on Monday (9/16/2024).
The Police Chief said that security personnel carried out patrols by following the port along the waters and stopping suspicious ships, including the patrol at coordinate point N 2 ° 59' 52.1016" E 99 ° 49' 17.6412".
"At that time, personnel chased and inspected the unnamed ship. After conducting a complete inspection, personnel did not find any goods prohibited by law," explained the Police Chief.
In addition to inspecting the ship's belongings, personnel also checked the ship's physical condition to ensure there were no leaks and that it was sailing safely.
Edi also appealed to fishermen to actively participate in providing information to the police if there are suspicious ships entering or leaving Tanjungbalai.
According to him, during the increased patrol, it was confirmed that the situation was safe and conducive in the Tanjungbalai area.
