Teenager Killed in Sarong Fight: Police Probe in South Lampung

Inp.polri.go.id - Kalianda.  South Lampung Sub-regional Police investigated a sarong battle that resulted in the death of a 1teenager in Kalianda, South Lampung Regency, on Monday night. Police Superintendent Yusriandi Yusrin, the Chief of South Lampung Police, said in Kalianda on Tuesday (19/3/2024) that the clash involving sarongs led to the death of a junior high school student identified as LRF (14) from Kecapi Village, Kalianda District. "The sarong battle involves teens using their sarongs to strike their opponents," he said, as reported by antaranews.com. Chief Yusriandi said that the police keep patrolling to prevent other juvenile crimes like street brawls and illegal racing.  The sarong battle occurred between teenagers from Kecapi Village and Pematang Village,. According to witnesses, the victim was initially taken to the Kecapi Village Midwife. However, the victim's condition deteriorated rapidly. Subsequently, the victim was transferred to Boob Bazar Kalianda Hospital but unfortunately could not be saved. Chief Yusriandi urged the community and parents in South Lampung to keep a close watch on their children and prevent them from engaging in criminal activities.  "Ensure that children stay at home after the tarawih night prayers," he added.
