Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP)'s International Relations Division confirmed on Thursday (10/10/2024) that Thailand's Prime Minister has pledged support in capturing international drug lord Fredy Pratama.

“Thailand is 100% committed to helping us with the Fredy Pratama case, although they have requested more time,” said the International Relations DivisionChief, Inspector General Krishna Murti, as quoted by antaranews.com.

Discussions on cooperation intensified following Indonesia's successful arrest of Chaowalit Thungduang, Thailand's most wanted fugitive.

Indonesia has also received assurances from the Philippines regarding the exchange of fugitives. This includes former Bamban Mayor Alice Guo and Australian fugitive Gregor Johann Haas, who is currently detained in the Philippines for drug-related offenses.

“We have a guarantee from the Philippine President to support the return of Gregor Johann Haas,” Chief Krishna said.

The police have formed a task force named Operation Escobar to arrest Fredy Pratama, who has been on Indonesia's wanted list since 2014. Since September, 60 suspects linked to his network have been arrested for drug trafficking and money laundering activities.
