The decisive action of the Polda Metro Jaya by arresting and assigning the status of a suspect to the leader of Khilafatul Muslimin Abdul Qadir Hasan Baraja received support from legal experts. Pancasila University legal expert, Agus Surono, stated that the leader of the Khilafatul Muslimin who was arrested by the Polda Metro Jaya could be punished for spreading false news. He explained, Abdul Qadir Hasan Baraja who claimed to be the caliph/amirul mu'minin during a lecture at the PPUI Bekasi harlah event and uploaded it on social media could be qualified in Article 14 of Law Number 1/1946, concerning Criminal Law Regulations. The lecture was entitled, "Only a Savage Willing to Submit and Obey Rules Other Than God's Rules." In addition, those who carried out group convoys distributing caliphate leaflets were categorized under Article 15 of Law Number 1/1946 concerning Criminal Law Regulations because the convoy participants had broadcast news that was uncertain or exaggerated or incomplete. "Such news will or can cause trouble among the people," concluded the legal expert at Pancasila University.
