inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf stated that every citizen in the poor category who is employed in kitchens providing Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) will still receive social assistance.

"Yes, of course, they will still receive the assistance," said the Minister of Social Affairs on Friday (1/31/2025).

The Minister of Social Affairs explained that the poor who are employed in the kitchens are participants of the Beneficiary Family (KPM), the Family Hope Program (PKH), or even groups that are in extreme poverty.

The number of citizens in the poor category, which based on the latest data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) is 3.1 million. This has become the reason for the Ministry of Social Affairs to encourage this group to be empowered until they move up a class and gain independence.

The government, through the National Nutrition Agency, is targeting that by 2025 there will be 5,000 nutritional fulfillment service unit kitchens (SPPG) built in each region.

"The benefits are quite large. Well, when they have received income from their jobs and are still of productive age, the provision of social assistance will be released," said the Minister of Social Affairs.

Although he has not received data on the exact number of poor people employed, the Minister of Social Affairs ensured that his party has been gathering the data continuously.

"Identification of data by name by address in a concrete way is still needed," said the Minister of Social Affairs.
