inp.polri.go.id - Medan. The North Sumatra Regional Police continue to strengthen their effort in their war against drugs. For two months, the police have successfully disclosed 883 drug criminal cases with 1,131 suspects arrested.

From the thousands of arrested suspects, 227 of them are drug users while the rest are involved in smuggling drugs.

This operation becomes concrete evidence of police commitment in not giving any space to criminals in the province.

Other than apprehending suspects, police also seized numerous pieces of evidence, namely 155.64 kg of meth, 121.64 of marijuana, 27 marijuana plants, as well as thousands of ecstasy pills, Alprazolam, and Happy Five.

In addition, 99 motorcycles, 14 cars, and almost Rp120 million in cash were also confiscated, which were suspected to be the proceeds of drug transactions.

The Acting Head of North Sumatra Regional Police Public Relations, Senior Superintendent Yudhi Surya Markus Pinem emphasized the commitment of his party of not giving any chance to drug crimes.

“We are fully committed to eradicating drug trafficking in North Sumatra. There is no place for them here in this province,” sats Markus on Saturday (3/2/2025).

Other than enforcing the law against drug crimes, police also invite the public to be proactive in the joint effort. The report from the public plays a vital role in severing the drug chain that continues to threaten the next generation of Indonesia.

With a more intensive operation, Markus hopes that North Sumatra would be free of drugs.
