Inp.polri.go.id - Jayapura. Three personnel from the Dogiayi Sub-Regional Police were struck by arrows during an attack carried out by a mob at the Moanemani Village and Moanemani Airport, occurring around 09.15 Eastern Indonesia Time.
Police Senior Superintendent Ignatius Benny Ady Prabowo, the Head of Public Relations of the Papua Regional Police, stated that the attack took place while the personnel were securing Moanemani Airport.
"The attack occurred during a joint security operation to evacuate the three victims who had been struck by arrows," he said on Friday (14/7/23).
Upon the helicopter's arrival at Moanemani Airport for victim evacuation, he added, the mob attacked the members by showering them with arrows and stones, and also set fire to a resident's house.
"The helicopter successfully took off from the Airport, safely transporting the victims for evacuation to Nabire," he concluded.
