Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. The Director of Waste Reduction, Sinta Saptarina Soemiarno hopes that through the education of the environment, youths could play their roles as the agent of change towards a community that is aware of the importance of preserving nature.

“They could be the agent of change in shifting our culture in preserving nature, guarding and protecting the environment,” said Sinta quoted from RRI on Sunday (5/5/2024).

She hopes that the Green Economy Youth Organization (GEYO) could push the younger generation to be the pioneers in handling three crises facing earth. The three are biodiversity crisis, climate change crisis, and population crisis.

According to her, in handling the three crises, it requires strong cooperation from all parties in realizing climate stability, living in harmony with nature, and the world free from pollution. Sinta also stressed the importance for the younger generation in preserving earth’s nature for the future.

“The responsibility of the current generation is to mitigate climate change and adapt with its impact. This to ensure that the upcoming generation will still inherit a habitable earth,” continued Santi.

Furthermore, Santi says that the younger generations need to have a leadership spirit and transglobal intellect to empower the society. It is also important for the younger generation to be able to manage and preserve the environment so that it would result in a high productivity environment.
