Inp.polri.go.id - South Lampung.  The South Lampung Sub-regional Police have intensified security measures at Bakauheni Port in preparation for the presidential scheduled on Sunday.

"Leading up to the inauguration of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, scheduled for Sunday, we are enhancing security," said South Lampung Police Chief Superintendent Yusriandi Yusrin in Kalianda on Saturday (19/10/2024).

He noted that these tightened security measures at the entrance to the ferry port to Java would last for two days.

"Starting today and continuing tomorrow, our team will inspect vehicles heading to Java. This initiative aims to preempt any disturbances to public order ahead of the inauguration," he explained, as reported by antaranews.com.

Chief Yusriandi emphasized that all types of vehicles, passengers, and their belongings would undergo thorough inspections.

"We will check vehicles, people, and cargo to prevent drug smuggling and other suspicious items," he added.

The security checks will occur at three different times throughout the day, with morning and evening inspections at the Gayam Post due to limited lighting at night. In contrast, Bakauheni Port will see inspections three times a day: morning, afternoon, and evening.
