Timor Leste Premier Arrived in Jakarta, Ready to Attend the 43rd ASEAN Summit

Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Premier of Timor Leste Xanana Gusmao became the second head of state who arrived in Indonesia to attend the 43rd ASEAN Summit. Xanana arrived in VVIP Terminal of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Banten, on Monday (9/4/2023). His arrival was welcomed with traditional dance of Indonesia. The 43rd ASEAN Summit will be attended by 22 states which include 11 state members, including Timor Leste, and nine state partners – South Korea, Japan, India, China, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Russia, and United States of America. Meanwhile, the head of state of United States of America, China and Russia were confirmed unable to visit. The three superpower states instead was represented by its vice president, premier, or ministry of foreign affairs. Meanwhile Premier Justin Trudeau, Premier Fumio Kishida and President Yoon Suk Yeol are confirmed to attend the Summit. On the other hand, Bangladesh as the Head of Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) and Cook Islands as Head of Pacific Islands Forum were also invited to attend the summit. Nine international organizations such as United Nations, World Bank, International Monetary Fund, and World Economic, are reportedly will attend the meeting also.
