Inp.polri.go.id - Pohuwato. Joint personnel from the Indonesian Military (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (INP) have been deployed around the crash site of a SAM Air plane near Panua Airport in Gorontalo.

Following the incident on Sunday (20/10/2024), Gorontalo Regional Police Chief Inspector General Pudji Prasetijanto Hadi said that he immediately mobilized his officers to secure the area. 

"We have deployed personnel to the scene alongside TNI and Transportation officials since the early moments of the incident," he said, as reported by antaranews.com.

The police presence will continue until the National Transportation Safety Committee (KNKT) arrives for an investigation. 

Four bodies of the victims have been transported to Bhayangkara Hospital in Gorontalo. The Gorontalo police have coordinated resources, including ambulances, to facilitate the transfer of the deceased to their families in Tamalate, East City District.

"We are tightening security at the site to ensure the investigation proceeds without disruption, allowing families to receive timely and accurate information," added Chief Pudji.
