inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Trade Budi Santoso ensured that the price of basic necessities remained stable ahead of Eid 2025 following a visit to retail outlets to provide discounts for consumers.

Minister Budi said that the Indonesian Retail Entrepreneurs Association (Aprindo) has 60,000 outlets spread throughout Indonesia. With the discounts, people are expected to still be able to buy basic necessities even though there is a price increase in the market.

"We will provide discounts if there is a price increase. So, if the price is still in accordance with the HET (highest retail price), that's great, however if there is an increase, Aprindo will provide discounts," said the Minister of Trade on Friday (3/7/2025).

He also appreciated Aprindo for its support in maintaining the stability of the price of basic necessities, such as rice, sugar, eggs, chilies, and meat. According to him, the role of retail entrepreneurs greatly assists the government in ensuring that prices remain under control.

Budi will continue to monitor the price of basic necessities through the Market and Basic Necessities Monitoring System (SP2KP) and coordinate with local governments to monitor prices in the field.

The Minister of Trade emphasized that his party will ensure that supply distribution remains smooth so that prices do not experience a significant spike.

On the same occasion, he assessed that the price of basic necessities in retail is still stable and hopes that this condition will last until Eid.
