inp.polri.go.id - Mataram. In supporting food self-sufficiency and national food security in 2025, the Indonesian National Police (INP) has collaborated with the Agriculture Ministry on planting corn simultaneously on a million hectares of land across Indonesia.

The West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police, Inspector General Hadi Gunawan and the Acting Governor of West Nusa Tenggara Hassanudin, carried out the corn sowing atop of 4.6 hectares of land at Pringgabaya district, East Lombok Regency.

This activity symbolizes the strong bond and cooperation between INP and other parties such as the Agriculture Ministry and the locals. Hadi emphasized that the aim of the corn sowing is to improve the corn products as the strategic commodity in West Nusa Tenggara.

“Through this program, we can ensure there are no food shortages in the future. With these fertile lands in West Nusa Tenggara, we are sure that the harvest would be abundant and can meet the needs of the public,” says Hadi.

As a form of real support for farmers, the NTB Police Chief also handed over assistance in the form of fertilizer and agricultural tools to the community. This assistance is expected to boost farmer productivity, while ensuring the sustainability of this program in the future.

"We want to ensure that farmers have access to adequate means of production. With this assistance, we hope that we can improve their productivity and help ensure that national food security is realized," said Hadi Gunawan.

This simultaneous corn planting program also aims to increase corn production by 25%. According to Hadi Gunawan, this step is part of the Indonesian Government's grand plan to achieve food self-sufficiency by 2025.
