Inp.polri.go.id – Tanjungbalai. Tanjungbalai Sub-regional Police and National Narcotics Agency (BNN) raid and arrest 10 people allegedly linked to a drug ring.

“Evidence we procured are 24.02 grams of drug, a cash of IDR 910,000, and a phone,” said Head of Tanjungbalai Sub-regional Police Drug Investigation Unit, Police Senior Inspector Silalahi.

The suspects arrested by the police are MA alias D, E alias T, HF alias H, MA alias P, YA alias K, APS alias PU, MS alias LI, CI, AL alias A and SS alias I. They were arrested after police held a raid operation in Yos Sudarso street, Tanjungbalai, on Thursday (4/18/2024).

“Based on our interrogation towards MA alias D, he got the illicit items from Adi. They would be paid IDR 8 million by Adi if the meth was sold,” continued Silalahi.

Furthermore, the urine test against the 10 suspects showed that they are positive under the influence of drugs.

As of now, MA is still being imprisoned in Tanjungbalai Sub-regional Police, while the other nine suspects were moved to Tanjungbalai BNN for rehabilitation.

“MA will be charged with Article 114 paragraph (2), subsidiary to Article 112 paragraph (2) of Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics, carries a minimum sentence of five years," concluded Silalahi.
