Inp.polri.go.id - Denpasar. Leaders from 21 island nations and international groups have landed on Monday (9/10/2023) at Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport to attend the Archipelagic and Island State (AIS) Forum 2023, which is scheduled on October 10th and 11th in Nusa Dua, Bali, .
The delegation comprised19 leaders from island nations, including Bahrain, Marshall Islands, Tuvalu, Niue, Maldives, Malta, Saint Lucia, Japan, the United Kingdom, Ireland, New Zealand, the Philippines, Cyprus, Fiji, Cabo Verde, Madagascar, Micronesia, Suriname, and Samoa, along with international organizations like the Pacific Island Forum (PIF) and the Melanesian Spearhead Group are also in attendance.
Upon their arrival, the leaders were warmly welcomed by high-ranking Indonesian government officials and ceremonial honors from the Cordon Military Police under the coordination of the Presidential Security Guard. In addition to military honors, the guests were greeted with a traditional Balinese custom, the Pendet Dance.
The AIS Forum 2023 aims to foster cooperation for island stability and sustainability.
