Inp.polri.go.id - Manokwari. The Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) has assured the public of the security of electronic land certificates, which are being rapidly developed by the government.

"With the transition from analog to digital certificates, we must ensure their security," said Ministry Secretary General Suyus Windayana during an online speech at the launch of BPN's digital services in West Papua on Wednesday (17/7/2024).

To safeguard electronic certificates, the ministry stores data in multiple locations apart from local land offices to protect against potential disasters or accidents. Digitally, the data is stored in a blockchain system, ensuring that any changes are traceable and the certificates remain valid, according to antaranews.com.

Owners can also access their certificates through the Sentuh Tanahku app, receiving notifications of any updates. This prevents damage, loss, or duplication of documents, as data duplicates are securely stored in multiple places.

The ministry also issues a physical version of the electronic certificate printed by state-owned Perum Peruri, featuring security measures similar to currency, including holograms and special markers.

By adopting electronic certificates, the ministry aimed to simplify processes, reduce bureaucracy, and prevent land mafia activities. As of July, approximately 150,000 electronic certificates have been distributed across 189 BPN offices nationwide.
