Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Agricultural Observer Bayu Dwi Apri Nugroho highlights farmer welfare during the 79th Indonesian Independence Day. He says to improve farmer's welfare, there must be a program made directly towards the farmers.

"There should be direct links between farmers and offtakers or the buyers," suggest Bayu on Sunday (8/18/2024).

According to him, linking farmers to offtaker must be done through an agreement. In this agreement, it must be ensured that the offtaker buys agricultural products from these farmers.

Furthermore, he believes that this system would be beneficial for the farmers, whatever the conditions are.

"What's important is the farmers have an offtaker, a buyer, that ready to buy their agricultural products," says Bayu.

Previously, Agriculture Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman pledges to improve farmer welfare. In realizing his goal, Andi will optimize the use of farm lands.

According to him, the optimization involves modern technology and facilities aid to farmers. Andi says that the aid was not only to improve the production, but also to push farmer's efficiency and sustainability.
