inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) emphasized the importance of infrastructure as the backbone and foundation of sustainable development in Indonesia.
According to Coordinating Minister AHY, integrated infrastructure development throughout Indonesia can support President Prabowo Subianto's vision to achieve economic growth of 8 percent per year.
"Connectivity between regions, including airports, ports, stations, trains, and roads, must continue to be strengthened," said Coordinating Minister AHY on Thursday (11/28/2024).
He emphasized that increasing connectivity not only supports economic growth but also improves people's welfare. However, he reminded the importance of maintaining balance with environmental aspects.
"We must not sacrifice environmental sustainability in order to pursue economic growth. This is for the sake of future generations," said Coordinating Minister AHY.
The government, he continued, is committed to building green infrastructure to achieve the Net Zero Emission (NZE) target by 2060. Coordinating Minister AHY also ensured that new policies and regulations will continue to be issued to support international commitments such as the Paris Agreement.
