Alleged Gratification on Pilgrimage Begins to be Investigated

Inp.polri.go.id – Cianjur. Police has begun the investigation of alleged gratification case in pilgrimage to Mecca to several officials of Cianjur Regency Government, West Java. The officials mentioned would be examined as soon as they returned to Indonesia. Cianjur Sub-regional Police Criminal Investigation Chief, First Police Inspector Tono Listianto, also states that entrepreneurs that donates the pilgrim would also be questioned. “During the process, we will summon all pilgrim applicants, including those who funded them,” explained Tono quoted from Antara on Wednesday (10/4/2023). Other than alleged gratification case, police will also investigate a bullying incident on a college student by one of the pilgrims after questioning their activity. The suspect is still on pilgrimage. “We will send summoning letter after they returned,” he concluded. It was previously reported that a college student whose a member of Himpunan Mahasiswa Tjianjoer, reports a gratification on joint pilgrimage with officials, politicians, and their supporting teams in Cianjur. The event allegedly funded by an entrepreneur. Himat Chair, Edwin Nursalam, says that the gratification has becoming more clear when several pilgrims has given their statement and confirms that an entrepreneur funded their pilgrim.
