inp.polri.go.id -  The police have arrested seven suspects in a fictitious credit corruption case of Bangka Belitung Sharia People's Financing Bank's Toboali branch (BPRS). According to the Babel Police's Head of Public Relations, the distribution of fictitious loans occurred in 2015, with an estimated loss of IDR 530 million. The Special Crimes Directorate is in charge of the 7-year-old case. "The credit is fictitious because it involves other people and collateral that does not meet the requirements. Funds that should be used for business are instead used for the perpetrators' personal gain "said the Babel Police Department's Head of Public Relations. Six fictitious customers were recorded as if they were making a loan application. "Suspects A and Af arranged for money to be used for personal purposes. While the other suspects, who worked as Account Officers, were rewarded for meeting the goal of distributing financing, "said the Babel Police Department's Head of Public Relations. The suspects were charged under Articles 2, 3, and 9 of Law Number 20 of 2001 on Corruption. The maximum penalty is 20 years in prison and a fine.
