Commissioner General Anang Revandoko, the Commander of Mobile Brigade Corps (Brimob) officially inaugurated the joint sniper training program between the Brimob and Germany's Anti-Terror Unit, GSG 9. The event took place at the Hoegeng Iman Santoso Shooting Range, located within the Brimob Headquarters in Depok, West Java, on Tuesday (8/8/23). A comprehensive 10-day training brought together a group of 52 personnel from diverse units, comprised 2 personnel from GSG 9 Germany, 12 from Gegana, 12 from Pelopor, 2 from the Brimob Training Unit, 4 from the Brimob Education Center, and 20 personnel representing different Brimob regions. The training spans across the Brimob Headquarters, the Brimob Training Center, and the Mount Tangkuban Perahu in West Java. "This joint training is designed to enhance the capabilities of personnel in performing crucial police duties to maintain security and public order," he stated. The partnership between Brimob and GSG 9 underscores their mutual commitment to preparing police forces capable of addressing a spectrum of global challenges. He added that the training is also expected to significantly enhance Indonesian National Police (INP) preparedness on both national and international fronts. Notable figures attending the event included the Head of International Relations Division of INP, the Vice Commander of Brimob, the Head of the Sabhara Unit, the Director of the Animal Unit, and other high-ranking officials of Brimob.
