The West Sumatra Police (Polda Sumbar), again, held a press conference related to uncovering criminal cases that occurred in the jurisdiction of the West Sumatra Police, Friday (11/3/22). Polda Sumbar reported that they have succeeded in uncovering a case of liquor (alcohol) selling without an official permit. This disclosure is a form of commitment from the West Sumatra Police Chief (Kapolda Sumbar) Inspector General Teddy Minahasa Putra, S.H., S.I.K., in maintaining a healthy community. The Head of Public Relations (Kabid Humas) of Polda Sumbar, Commissioner Satake Bayu Setianto, S.I.K., said that he managed to secure alcohols from a trader in Bukittinggi City on Wednesday (9/3/22). "The perpetrator who was arrested has the initials R, (44), from Tarok Village, Guguk Panjang District, Bukittinggi City," stated Kabid Humas Polda Sumbar when giving a press statement at the West Sumatra Police Headquarters During the arrest, he said officers found hundreds of bottles of alcoholic beverages with various brands and confiscated 245 bottles of liquor with an alcohol content of 14% to 45% as evidence. "They will be charged with Article 106 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 24 paragraph (1) of Law Number 7 of 2004 concerning trade as amended in paragraph 8 of Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation," said Kabid Humas Polda Sumbar. Kabid Humas Sumbar added, that the authorities were able to do this because of the information from the public. Other than securing hundreds of bottles of alcoholic beverages, the police also found dozens of packages suspected of being methamphetamine. "While securing evidence of alcoholic beverages, during a search, we also found 23 packages of methamphetamine weighing 2.13 grams, plastic, and a bong," Kabid Humas said. Furthermore, the perpetrators along with the evidence were handed over to the Directorate of Drug Investigation of the West Sumatra Police for further investigation.
