inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Coordinating Minister of Economy Sector Airlangga Hartarto pushed several regions to adopt electric mass vehicles, including buses.
"The government is also pushing for infrastructure in the form of bus transportation. Indeed, if we look at it, Jakarta's electric buses are more progressive than other regions," said Coordinating Minister Airlangga, Tuesday (9/24/2024).
Airlangga hopes that other regions would follow suit in implementing electric vehicles in their cities and regencies.
However, Airlangga is also aware that not all regions in Indonesia are ready to implement green energy technology, including in the public transportation sector.
He says that the use of electric vehicles in the public transportation sector is expected to rise until 2035. Therefore, new policies about green transportation, particularly in public transportation, are very important to be designed.
