Inp.polri.go.id - Depok. The Depok Metropolitan Sub-regional Police revealed on Friday (26/12/2025) that the suspect behind bomb threats sent to 10 schools in Depok, West Java, acted out of personal disappointment after a failed relationship and rejected marriage proposal.

“The motive was personal frustration after his proposal was rejected by the woman’s family,” Depok Police Criminal Investigation Chief Senior Inspector Made Oka said, as cited by antaranews.com.

The suspect, identified as H (23), allegedly impersonated the woman by creating fake email and social media accounts to send bomb threats and spread defamatory content. Investigators said the suspect and the woman had dated in 2022 but later separated. Since then, he repeatedly carried out intimidation, including threats against her and her campus, as well as fictitious online orders sent to her home.

Police traced the threats to electronic devices seized from the suspect’s residence. Suspect H was formally named a suspect following witness examinations and digital evidence analysis. Authorities stressed that the threats, which disrupted school activities, were intended to seek attention rather than linked to extremist networks.
