Director of Community Development of West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police Held FGD with Senkom Police Partners

Sentra Komunikasi (Senkom) Police Partners of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), together with the Community Development Directorate of NTB Regional Police, held a focused group discussion (FGD) themed "Role of Senkom Police Partners of NTB Province in Helping Indonesian National Police Materialise Conducive Security and Order Situation in the Middle of Covid-19 Pandemic in West Nusa Tenggara" at the Montana Premier hotel of Senggigi, West Lombok. Director of Community Development of NTB Regional Police, Police Grand Commissioner Dessy Ismail, stated that Senkom Police Partners, which was formed on January 1, 2004, in Jakarta and July 8, 2007, in NTB, is a place for the public to actively participate with Indonesian National Police in maintaining security and order. The formation was followed up by a telegram letter of the Chief of Indonesian National Police No. WT/526/V/2007 dated May 7, 2007, about instructions for the Chiefs of Regional Police to form SMP become the Police Partners in order to help Police solve the social problems that potentially become security and order disturbance. "The vision of Senkom Police Partners is to be an institution that reliable and professional in helping the government and Indonesian National Police to materialise national security and order through the improvement of community awareness. The mission of Senkom Police Partners is to foster awareness and widen society role in helping the government and Indonesian National Police to achieve safe and peaceful county and security in NTB by mainstreaming Covid-19 Health Protocols", the Director of Community Development of NTB Regional Police said. The Director of Community Development of NTB Regional Police also explained that Senkom Police Partners is functional, independent, and not affiliated with any organisations or political parties and have two million members across Indonesia. Director of Community Development continued that Senkom Police Partners also cooperate with National Narcotics Agency in preventing and eradicating drugs trafficking and abuse, the Ministry of Defence in educating about defending the country, the National Disaster Management Authority on cooperation in disaster management, and National Search and Rescue Agency on the search and rescue operations. On this occasion, the Director of Community Development of NTB Regional Police hoped that Senkom Police Partners with other nation's elements and related stakeholders to actively involve in detecting and handling social problems and other security and order disturbances. "So the nation's unity could be fostered, mainly as we approach the 2024 Regional Election. Therefore, disturbance potentials could be handled earlier", he concluded.
