inp.polri.go.id - Riau Island. Riau Island Regional Police Drug Criminal Investigation destroys a total of 7,047.03 grams of crystal methamphetamine, and 3,866.45 grams of dried marijuana on Friday, October 25th, 2024.

The drugs were destroyed with an incinerator car that could light up a flame of 1200° c to prevent the surrounding environment from being contaminated by its dangerous pollution. 

The drug evidence was from the criminal cases uncovered from September to October in Riau Island Province. Nine suspects were arrested in the case uncovering.

The Riau Island Regional Police Drug Criminal Investigation Director, Superintendent Anggoro Wicaksono says that the drug termination is part of his unit's commitment in eradicating drugs.

In his statement, he explained that the total evidence of crystal methamphetamine that was secured was 7,119.66 grams. Of that amount, 52 grams were set aside for evidence in court and 20.50 grams for forensic laboratory examination.

Then the evidence of dried marijuana that was successfully secured had a total weight of 3,881.50 grams. A total of 15 grams were set aside for evidence in court and 0.05 grams for forensic laboratory examination.

For their actions, the suspects were charged with Article 114 Paragraph (1), (2) and/or Article 112 Paragraph (2) and/or Article 113 Paragraph (2) and/or Article 111 Paragraph (2) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics.
