 Papuan Female Activist's Murder Case Completed

Inp.polri.go.id - Jayapura. The Damai Cartenz Task Force and the Papua Regional Police have completed the investigation of the murder case of Papua’s female activist MIchelle Kurisi Doga and handed over two out of three suspects involved to the Wamena Prosecutor's Office. The suspects were identified as Ditius Wenda, also known as Person Murib (26), and Rupinus Murib, also known as Rudi Komba (28), said the Chief of the Damai Cartenz Taks Force’s Public Relations Unit  Superintendent Bayu Suseno, on Thursday (1/2/2024). He acknowledged that the two suspects had been previously detained at the Papua Police headquarters in Jayapura and were flown to Wamena before being handed over to the prosecutor’s office. Another suspect, identified as Aswen (AW), remains in custody as his case is not yet complete. Papuan female activist Kurisi Doga was found dead in the Koloak Atas District, Lanny Jaya Regency, Papua Mountains, on 28 August 2023. It was suspected that seven individuals were involved in the murder. Aswen is believed to be the mastermind who committed the stabbing.  (mg/inp/pr/nm)
