Garuda Bhayangkara Taekwondo Team Wins 6 Golds at Thailand  Championship

Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police’s (INP) Garuda Bhayangkara Taekwondo team won six gold medals at the Heroes Taekwondo International Championship in Bangkok, Thailand, held from11 to 12  August, 2024. 

The team also earned eight silver and eight bronze medals.

The team, led by Senior Superintendent Andi Herindra, was welcomed back by the INP Chief Assistant Chief o for Human Resources, Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo, on Thursday (15/8/2024). 

“We greatly appreciate the achievements of our Garuda Bhayangkara Taekwondo team in Thailand and earlier in Malaysia,” Chief Dedi said.

He said that high-performing athletes would be included in development programs at regional and national levels, with ongoing support for competing internationally. The commitment to fostering sports excellence is reflected in the INP’s Sports Committee (KOP), which is preparing facilities in Marunda, North Jakarta, including an athlete village and sports complex.

The team previously excelled at the Malaysia Open, winning 14 gold, 5 silver, and 5 bronze medals, along with top team honors.
