inp.polri.go.id - Gorontalo. In raising public awareness on traffic law, Gorontalo Regional Police held the 2024 Patuh Otanaha Operation since June 15th. Not only for law enforcement, the operation also educates the public about driving safely.

The Head of Patuh Otanaha Task Force Operation, Police Senior Inspector Mutiara Puspitasari Hartono confirms that the operation aims to improve public awareness on traffic law.

“The operation is designed not only to enforce the law, but also to educate the people. We want to build a culture of safe and orderly traffic so that the number of accidents can be suppressed,” said Mutiara.

She says that in educating the people about safe driving, she and her party told the drivers that they met to use helmets, bring their vehicle registration, and comply with the traffic lights. Moreover, police personnel also gave leaflets and safe driving stickers as a reminder for the drivers.

“We want to convey that safe driving is the responsibility of all. Please comply with the traffic law, not because you are afraid being fined by the police, but because of your own awareness with the safety of your own self and others,” explained Mutiara.

The 2024 Patuh Otanaha Operation will continue to be held until the end of July with the hope it would bring significant change on driving culture. Gorontalo Regional Police committed to continue educating the people to create safe and comfortable traffic for all.
