Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Coordinating Ministry of Human Development and Culture has been drafting a Government Regulation (PP) for athletes’ bonuses and  pension funds.

"The PP is currently in the process at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham), and it will be enacted soon," said Budi Prasetyo, the Assistant Deputy for Sports Achievement Improvement at the Coordinating Ministry  of Human Development and Culture  on Monday (6/5/2024).

He said that Olympic athletes might receive pension funds similar to veterans, pending finalization of the value, according to antaranews.com. 

Although Indonesia's Olympic bonuses are sizable compared to Japan or Korea, direct disbursement necessitates financial management skills to ensure long-term financial security for athletes, Budi added.

Aris Darmansyah, the Acting Deputy for Mental Revolution, Cultural Advancement, and Sports Achievement Coordination, highlighted the importance of fostering a culture of sportsmanship alongside sports achievements. 

The National Sports Grand Design, outlined in Presidential Regulation Number 86 of 2021, categorizes sports into performance, educational, and community aspects to advance sports nationwide.
