“This boils down to leadership. Linked to strong determination,” said the Acting Secretary General of the Home Affairs Ministry, Tomsi Tohir Balaw on Tuesday (7/30/2024).

In his statement, he says that growing cayenne pepper is not as difficult as growing red chili. According to him, this commodity can even grow out of plastic bottles.

On the other hand, red chili requires more careful maintenance as it tends to expire quickly.

In his closing statement, he pushed regional governments to push the cultivation of cayenne pepper to maintain its price balance, particularly in regions experiencing the price increase.
