Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  Minister of Religious Affairs Yaqut Cholil Qoumas said on Tuesday (8/10/2024) that the visit of the Grand Imam of Nabawi Mosque, Sheikh Ahmad bin Ali Al Hudzaifi, has further strengthen the relationship between Indonesia and Saudi Arabia.

“I am confident that the ties between our countries, governments, and people remain strong. We will continue to maintain these relations,” he said, as quoted by antaranews.com.

Sheikh Ahmad, who arrived in Jakarta on Monday, will be in Indonesia until Friday, scheduled to meetPresident Joko Widodo, religious organizations, and lead Friday prayers at Istiqlal Mosque.

Minister Yaqut raised his gratitude for the Imam’s visit, conveying his respect to King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

Saudi Ambassador to Indonesia, Faisal Al-Amudi, emphasized that the Grand Imam’s visit, carrying a message from King Salman, reflects the strong ties between the two nations.

“The visit shows King Salman’s special attention to Indonesia and appreciation for Minister Yaqut’s efforts to strengthen cooperation in religious affairs,” he said.

The Grand Imam also highlighted the shared commitment of both nations to promote moderate and tolerant Islamic values.
