inp.polri.go.id - East Flores. The identification team of East Flores Sub-regional Police investigates the location of fire that burned down a house in Bugalima Village, West Adonara District on Monday (10/21/2024).

Throughout the investigation process, the team has gathered the evidence of the incident for further examination. Furthermore, victims found in the house have also been moved to hospital for autopsy.

Head of East Flores Sub-regional Police Chief, Superintendent I Nyoman Putra Sandita, implores the local resident to not take drastic measures in resolving the issue and leave the matter to the hands of the authority.

“We want the conflicting parties to calm down. Things can be resolved peacefully and without violence. The government, Indonesian National Police (INP), and Indonesian National Military (TNI) are doing their best to resolve the issue,” says Sandita.

Sandita explains that the fire allegedly came after local residents locked themselves into a conflict. However, he clarifies that local figures from both parties have promised to cease their attack.

“The situation is relatively more conducive than before. We have arrested several people who were allegedly involved in the attack,” says Sandita.

In maintaining public security and order, security forces of police and military are working together by patrolling the area intensively. In addition to patrols, the police also continue to coordinate with local governments and other related agencies to find a peaceful solution to this conflict.

Sandita emphasized that all preventive measures are being taken to prevent further escalation, including additional personnel if necessary. The police also appealed to the public to return to their homes and not to get provoked by issues that could worsen the situation.
