inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) says the installment of the Presidential Palace Garuda’s final piece in the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) has been completed.

“Today we have seen and installed the 4650th piece which marks the completion of IKN’s Garuda construction,” says the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing, Basuki Hadimuljono on Monday (7/22/2024).

The last piece installment was seen directly by Minister Basuki and Nyoman Nuarta, who is also the one who designs and makes the Garuda building pieces.

The Garuda building was designed with its wing spread for 177 meters and has a height of 77 meters. Meanwhile, the pieces of the wings were made from brass and anti-corrosion steel produced by Krakatau Steel company. Each piece has tremendous weight and must be transported in the right way.

A total of 4,650 of 0.3 tons of pieces were transported to East Kalimantan from Bandung to construct the Garuda Building. The total weight of the building is around 1,398.3 tons.

The construction of the Garuda building, which serves as the Presidential palace in the Central Government Core Area, was first started on September 17th, 2023.
